From first glance, when you visit Maeklong Market, you’d be forgiven for thinking it is just like any other Thai market, but you'd be wrong. There's something very different about Rom Hoop Market because it's located right on the tracks of an active railway line. When a train is due to travel this part of the line, a sense of urgency fills the market as market vendors quickly fold away their umbrellas, canvases and remove their goods and containers placed close to the tracks when the train arriving and they will restore the market when the train has passed. After your kite making experience it will sadly time to leave the Baan Bang Phlap community and head back to Bangkok, where you should arrive by 17:00 ready for dinner.
