Rice paddy experience in Nakhon Pathom,

Get ready for a fun packed day all based around rice! In the morning, you will be collected from your Bangkok hotel by your Nakhon Pathom tour guide, who will drive you in a private mini bus west of Bangkok, the journey usually takes about an hour. When we arrive in Nakhon Pathom, we will meet the locals in what is known as the garden of Bangkok. Khlong Yong community are a cooperative of local Nakhon Pathom farmers, who farm many different produce including fruits, flowers and most importantly rice. 

Khlong Yong community, pride themselves on producing organic rice and they are trying to influence others to also do so.
They farm their rice without the involvement of any chemicals and also help preserve the local folk rice too. When you visit the rice paddy in Nakhon Pathom, you will be welcomed by one of the local farmers who will arrive to collect you by tractor, or kratae as the locals call it. The Nakhon Pathom farmers will show you their passion as they teach you about the process of rice which is the main ingredient to most dishes that the Thai people eat in almost every single meal. The rice farmer will welcome you into their home so you get to opportunity to see the life of a Thai farmer and he will also educate you on the tools these organic rice farmers use.

At lunch you will meet up at the local community centre to enjoy a traditional Thai lunch and take part in a rice tasting experience. You will taste specialty organic rice that have been farmed here in Nakhon Pathom which will accompany other with delicious ingredients. After you take part in the rice tasting experience you will then join in with the locals in making a traditional Thai dessert in a Thai dessert workshop, and guess what the main ingredient is? 

After your full day visiting the locals in Nakhon Pathom and taking part in a rice tasting experience, you will board the mini bus to take the journey from the village back to Bangkok.
