Istanbul was ruled by the Ottoman empire and previous to that the Byzantine empire. These two empires have left a long-lasting impression on Turkey's most populous city. On our Classic Istanbul Tour you will get to visit the Hippodrome, Hagia as well as the Blue Mosque.
The Classic Istanbul Tour kicks off at the Sultan Ahmet Centre, this is the heart of the city, on your visit to the Sultan Ahmet Centre you will get to discover more about the composition of this part of the city and its previous rulers. After the visit to the Sultan Ahmet Centre, the tour takes you on to the Hagia Sophia, this is the Church of the Divine Wisdom, a most amazing piece of architecture, constructed in the 6th Century.
After the visit to Hagia Sophia, the Classic Istanbul tour moves onto the Blue Mosque opposite. When you visit the Blue Mosque, you will notice on arrival the unique line of of six minarets and the famous blue İznik tiles. The Hippodrome is the next stop on the Classic Istanbul Tour, the Hippodrome was the centre of sports events such as chariot races and athletics. Upon your visit to the Hippodrome you will notice such attractions as the German Fountain of Wilhelm II, the Obelisk of Theodosius and Serpentine Column.
Next, it's off to the largest souk in the world, the Grand Covered Bazaar hosts nearly 400 stores retailing various goods from gold to carpets and souvenirs.
Tickets to all attractions are included as well as collection from central hotels. Please make note of customs of the mosque, please dress appropriately.
