The Gorillas in the Mist film tells the story of Dian Fossey, an American primatologist who leaves the States and heads over to Africa to study and protect gorillas.

Now, you can go on your own Gorillas in the Mist adventure on this 3 day Lake Bunyonyi Gorilla Safari and Gorillas in the Mist experience in Uganda. This gorilla safari in Uganda features a gorilla trek in the misty mountains followed by a night spent on the shores of the gorgeous Lake Bunyonyi. During the Gorilla trek, you will walk through the beautiful Ugandan jungle to spend time with mountain gorillas in the mist of the Ugandan mountains.

Day 1 of your Gorilla Safari - Drive to Bwindi Park through Lake Mburo
This Gorillas in the Mist experience includes transfers to and from your hotel, so on the first day you will be collected from your hotel by your guide. You will be met early in order to make the most of the day and get as much gorilla trekking in as possible. Not only will you get to experience gorillas in the mist but along the way you will also get to stop at the equator, there are some breath taking sights here and some great opportunities to take some amazing photos. You will stop for lunch in Masaka or Mbarara, depending on the time. Once you have enjoyed lunch, you will continue on to Bwindi through the neck of the impenetrable forest. On arriving at Bwindi you will check-in at the lodge and enjoy a hot meal, whilst discussing the plans for Day 2 of your Gorillas in the Mist experience.

Day 2 of your Gorilla Safari in Uganda - Bwindi Impenetrable National Park
Again, it will be an early start but it will all be worth it, as you will realise when you meet gorillas ini the wild. You will start the day with a breakfast and then you will head out for your gorilla trekking adventure in Uganda with your experienced guide. The Bwindi Impenetrable National Park is the home of the mountain gorillas, these fantastic animals are our closet cousins. Not only will you get to meet gorillas in the wild, as you trek the jungle you will also notice a forest full of exotic birds, butterflies, forest hog, forest elephants, plant species, duikers and sitatunga. Whilst you enjoy trekking the Ugandan forest you will come across the most magnificent sight of gorillas in the mist! Now, you will get the opportunity to meet gorillas in the wild and you will at this point be in total awe of these amazing creatures. After your gorilla safari trek you will then start your journey to Lake Bunyonyi. Upon arriving to Lake Bunyonyi you will then be able to relax after a physical and emotional day, alternatively if you still have some energy, there are various activities you can take part in at Lake Bunyonyiyou, such as, swimming, bird watching, canoeing and kayaking. When the evening arrives on your second day of your gorilla safari and Lake Bunyonyi tour you head back to the lodge for your dinner and some well-deserved sleep.

Day 3 of your Gorilla Safari in Uganda - Head back to Kampala
The final day of the gorillas in the mist experience you will start by enjoying your breakfast before setting off back to Kampala. Usually on the return journey you should get the chance to see some wildlife as you drive through Mburo. You will stop along the way to have some lunch and you will return to Kampala in the evening and this is where your gorilla safari concludes.
